Call of Duty: Black Ops III has been the most discussed game in the past few weeks. From social media to nearly every streaming and video site, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is played all over the world (especially via Twitch). This week, Activision notes that Call of Duty: Black Ops III has generated over $550 million dollars in global revenue within just three days. This great feat makes the Call of Duty shooter the “biggest entertainment launch of the year.” This feat is well over the amount that Halo 5: Guardians generated within a weeks time ($400 million).
Activision proudly states that Black Ops III set a new all-time record for “engagement” per player because Black Ops III game owners play more hours per player than any Call of Duty game before it. All Call of Duty: Black Ops III players logged more than 75 million hours online from November 6-8.
Sony also is satisfied with the PS4 being the “best place to play Call of Duty,” because they also reached an all-time high record of Call of Duty: Black Ops III being the best-selling digital full game by units sold in its first day in PS4 history.
